Well, there won't be updates on Tree of Life for a little bit. I've decided that I need to restart it on vastly different fabric. I'm going to go for a 25 count Lugana, I think. I can't park over two, much as I love it for the cross country stitching. Too much counting.

So I'm back to Celebrate until I get new fabric. This is the first time I've had to do this, and it's definitely annoying, but I'm only 700 stitches into it and it's already driving me crazy, so it will be well worth it.

Tree of Life is definitely going to be a challenge. SO MUCH confetti! I'm going to aim for 200 stitches a day before moving onto other projects.

Here's today and yesterday's progress.

New start!

Tree of Life in Ruby, by William Morris, charted by HAED.

Man was this a pain today. I gridded wrong, so I had to rip it out and stitch and make mistakes and frog and then regrid. Joy of joys. Was just cranky today though. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, as I have work.

Achieved my goal of getting the half page done, hooray! Was mostly big chunks of color, so it wasn't too hard. It's amazing how those little patches of stitches come together to form a picture.

Now for more schoolwork...

Sunday, September 21, 2014

Had to frog twice today, about 50 stitches each time, because of this silly cold. Nevertheless, got a decent chunk done. More leaf, and some background. Hopefully I will finish this half of the page tomorrow, since it's mostly big chunks of color, not confetti.

I finally managed to get some good stitching time in this evening! This was my first week working four days, so I was generally exhausted, plus I think I'm coming down with something.

On the Celebrate front, I finally reached leaf! Very exciting.

My floss came today! For two of my new projects. The third, which is actually the one I want to start the most, is still in the works.

With floss there must be pics! Neither is on the fabric they will be stitched on as I don't have it yet, but on a neutral gray.

Not a ton of progress on Celebrate today, mostly filling in with confetti. So I'll have a picture of that tomorrow.

I got the cutest latte today at my coffee shop that's right near work!

I saw my surgeon today. He was pleased with my progress, and said I could start weaning out of the brace in a month, and be rid of it in another month, yay. He also suggested some physical therapy, which is always of the good. I'm in the market for a new PT place (my old one doesn't take my new insurance) and I found one up the hill from work that not only takes my insurance, but is affiliated with my very top notch hospital. Yay!

Stitching! I haven't slept well the last two nights, so I didn't get as much of the confetti done as I wanted, but I did get the orange filled in.

Had lots of homework to do, but I still got some work in on Celebrate.

I got the first column of page 14 done, and made a small start on the next column. Tomorrow I have work and a doctor's appointment (*shakes fist at feet*) so I'm not sure how much work I'll get done on Celebrate.

I'm still trying to figure out what will be the best solution to my dilemma on how to use q-snaps or a scroll frame for my new project. It's going to be parked, so I'd like to use my lap stand. Last time I gave up on it because of a tension problem with my scroll frame, so I put it in an 11 by 17 q-snap and held it in my lap. I'd like to try the lap frame again. I see two options: Put it back in the scroll frame with something Nordic Needle calls "stitch clamps" to even out the tension, or make some weird Godzilla q-snap and buy the q-snap adapter for my lap stand (it's a K's Creations). The advantage to that is that I can move the project in and out of the q-snaps. Also, the stitch clamps are out of stock. So I think the second, q-snap, option makes the most sense, but I have to figure out how to get the frame to work with the right pieces.

Spent today working on Celebrate. I really like the greens in this section. Which is good, because I have leaves and a frog in my future.

Also got the fabric for my next big project. Will post a picture once I get the threads for a floss toss.

It is a dreary and rainy day. Fall is here.

But I'm inside with the heat turned on and a fleece wrapped around me, so it's cross stitching time!

Got page 15 done today. That's 11 out of 25 done, or 44% if I'm doing the math right.

Celebrate, by Teri Rosario, charted by HAED.

Here's the entire work so far, minus the page I just finished.

Happy Stitching!
